Floating IP reassignment without downtime

When we move a floating IP to a standby VM there is a 20-40 second gap. An atomic reassign (or a documented way to pre-warm the target) would let us do real failover.

    Same here. We use keepalived and still lose about 30 seconds of traffic during the switch.

      Thanks for the details. We are reworking how routes are announced so the switch happens in under 2 seconds. It is planned for next quarter.
