Scheduled snapshots for block volumes

We take volume snapshots with a cron job on every VM. A built-in schedule (daily/weekly) with retention per volume would remove a lot of scripts.

    Please also add a retention setting, for example keep the last 7 daily and 4 weekly snapshots.

      Retention is part of the first version: you will be able to set how many daily, weekly and monthly snapshots to keep.

    Will snapshots be crash-consistent or can we run a pre-snapshot hook to flush the database?

      Crash-consistent at first. Pre and post hooks through the guest agent are on the list for a later release.
